Description
intense and mineral-inflected broad-shouldered flavors are an exercise in restraint
This is really quite pretty and a wine that should amply reward mid-term cellaring
cool and restrained nose speaks of various red berries and plenty of Gevrey style earth scents
While this did open with a trace of reduction it quickly dissipated to reveal subtle wood nuances on the ripe but cool aromas of citrus and various white orchard fruit scents
tannic profile
Francois Bertheau, Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru Vintage:2018 intense and mineral-inflected broad-shouldered flavors(a 1 ha blend of Groseilles, Baudes, Noirots and Gruenchers). This is aromatically more elegant and a bit cooler as well though it is still notably ripe with its array of essence of red cherry, pomegranate and a nicely broad range of spice elements. There is adequate vibrancy to the attractively textured medium bodied flavors that terminate in a sappy if slightly austere finish that exude a touch of acidulated cherry bon bons. Fine quality here.
